Checkra1n is a brilliant jailbreak tool that was mainly used for jailbreaking iPhone X and older models on a Mac system. Windows users had a long wait to get the tool working. But it’s worth the wait! Finally, we are unveiling Checkra1n Windows jailbreak tool that works on latest iOS 13.5.

Earlier, it was quite difficult for Windows users to jailbreak the Apple devices, but now with Bootra1n and USB flash drive, it has become easier. Recently, the developers have also added Linux support.

Note: We are excited to tell you that Checkra1n jailbreak works on iOS 12.3 up to iOS 13.5. It is fully compatible on older iPhone models as well, right from iPhone 6, iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone X, and iPhone 11. It also works on iPad Mini 4, iPad (2018 & 2019), iPad Pro, and iPod Touch (5th Gen).

iOS 13.5 Checkra1n Jailbreak Windows Requirements

To use Checkra1n jailbreak from iOS 13.5, you need the following

  • A Windows Based PC (Intel PC or 64 bit or 32 bit AMD)
  • USB flash drive at least 512 MB or larger
  • Users need to download additional software Bootra1n 0.10.2

How to Checkra1n Jailbreak for Windows iOS 13.5

Step#1: Firstly, connect the USB flash drive to your computer.

Step#2: Download the latest Rufus version 3.11 of 1.1 MB by clicking here. It is a utility that helps to format and create bootable USB flash drives.

Step#3: Now, download the additional software that we mentioned earlier – Bootra1n. Follow this link to download bootra1n LiveCD 32-bit or 64-bit depending on your OS.

Step#4: After it downloads, launch Rufus setup and ensure that your USB drive is connected.

Step#5: The dialog box indicates three sections- Drive Properties, Format Options, and Status. Under the Drive Properties, select the USB drive.

Step#6: Next, click the Select button to attach the ISO file i.e. bootra1n LiveCD which you downloaded in step 3 in the respective folder. After you attach the bootra1n file, click Start.

Note: As you click “Start”, it displays the message “Download Required”. It requires downloading two additional files from the Internet. If you select “Yes”, it would download Syslinux files.

Step#7: In a few seconds, it will download the files and the USB flash drive will be ready. Restart your Windows computer.

Step#8: Check on Google to boot into your BIOS with your laptop. For example, if you have Dell laptop, press F12 to boot into BIOS. If you’re unsure pressing one of these keys during booting will work – F1, F2, F10, F11, or F12.

Step#9: As you boot, you will see your USB flash drive. In case the USB flash drive doesn’t appear, Go to BIOS setup to restore the settings to BIOS defaults.

Step#10: Click USB Flash Drive and Press Enter. The Bootra1n screen appears highlighting few versions to boot in. You can boot into any of them. Click on “Graphic Safe” and press Enter.

Step#11: Wait for the commands to finish. It asks for login ID and password. The login ID is “anon” and the password is “voidlinux”. Press Enter

Step#12: Next, run the command “sudo checkra1n” and press Enter.

Step#13: As Checkra1n opens, connect your iPhone with a cable. It quickly detects your phone. The latest version of Checkra1n fully supports iOS 13.5.

Step#14: Click on Start and press It boots your Apple device into recovery mode.

Important Note:- As your iPhone opens in recovery mode, Checkra1n guides the process of DFU mode. Click Start and hold the power button and volume down button for 3 to 4 seconds. Release the Power button and hold the volume button down for 6 to 7 seconds. It will boot your device in DFU mode. It boots and initiates the process of jailbreaking.

Step#15: Wait for the process to complete. Now, the iOS 13.5 Checkra1n jailbreak will be done. You can see the Checkra1n logo displayed on the home screen of your iPhone.

It is important to know how to boot back into Windows.

  • In Checkra1n, press Enter and press Quit.
  • Press Enter
  • Now, run a command. There are two commands, one for a restart and another for shut down.
  • To restart, type “sudo shutdown –r now
  • To shut down, type “sudo shutdown-h now


At the end, restart your iPhone and install Cydia to jailbreak using Checkra1n. You can see the Checkra1n app, open it, and install Cydia. Firstly, it downloads the base system files and installs Cydia. It takes time as per your Internet speed.

Once it’s done, you can see Cydia on your home screen. There are reports that some Cydia tweaks do not work. Hence, create a backup of your data in case you need to restore it someday.
